JOB POSTING- Administrative Assistant

Plateau Outreach Ministries (POM) provides social services to individuals and families in Southeast King and Northeast Pierce Counties, commonly known as the Enumclaw Plateau. We are seeking a mission-driven, highly organized Administrative Assistant to support our office and programs by providing excellent front-line service and keeping office systems organized and running smoothly.

The ideal candidate has excellent interpersonal skills—friendly, patient, energetic, and a team player; with compassion for the well-being of others. Bilingual English/Spanish skills are preferred but not required. Candidates should be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, Publisher, social media, data entry, and office systems. Job Description:

This position is often the first welcoming face to greet our clients, donors, volunteers, and staff, and it requires a strong understanding of Plateau Outreach Ministries’ mission, services, and impact in the community. In addition to assisting guests and accepting donations, the Administrative Assistant supports staff and volunteers by helping keep daily office functions organized and running smoothly.

Responsibilities include maintaining office systems and supplies, supporting office organization, communication, basic reporting, and coordinating volunteers. We are looking for someone who is proactive, highly organized, and a strong problem- solver who enjoys improving systems and processes to help our work stay efficient and effective. Given the variety and demands of our operations, this role requires flexibility and a willingness to assist where needed to best serve the organization. Occasionally, this may include duties outside of the listed primary responsibilities.

Schedule:

Monday–Friday, 9:00 am–3:00 pm (flexible within POM needs); occasional evenings/weekends for special events.

Key Responsibilities:

·         Provide warm, professional front-line support for clients, donors, volunteers, and the public (in person, phone, and email).

·         Support Executive Director and staff with organization and follow-through, including scheduling, meeting preparation, documentation, and task tracking.

·         Maintain and improve office systems (files, forms, calendars, supply ordering, scheduling, and basic reporting).

·         Coordinate volunteer applications, placement, scheduling, and communications.

·         Support Director of Community Engagement with: flyers, mailings, social media posts, event calendar updates, and basic website updates.

·         Assist with data entry and reporting for client services, volunteers, and donors.

·         Support food bank, Samaritan Services, thrift store, and special events as needed (including occasional lifting and donation intake).

·         Attend staff meetings and trainings as scheduled.

Qualifications:

·         Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities with attention to detail.

·         Excellent interpersonal skills; friendly, patient, calm, and professional in a fast-paced environment.

·         Proficient with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook (and/or Google Workspace); comfortable learning new systems.

·         Experience with data entry, office systems, scheduling, and basic reporting.

·         Ability to maintain confidentiality and use good judgment.

·         Comfortable working with individuals under stress and with diverse needs.

·         Ability to lift/move heavy objects as required (donations, supplies, food deliveries).

·         Bilingual English/Spanish preferred.

Compensation & Benefits:

Pay is based on education and experience and ranges from $20–$23 per hour.

The first 90 days are considered a training and onboarding period, with a review at the end of 90 days.

All staff receive paid sick leave.

Permanent staff who work 24+ hours per week are eligible for 12 paid holidays, earned vacation (up to 3 weeks for 1–3 years of service), up to a 3% match in a SIMPLE IRA, and a monthly medical stipend.
